Synopsis

Past her initial bloom Anne Elliot lives with her vain and selfabsorbed father and older sister Elizabeth and Lady Russel, a distant friend of the family who Anne sees as second mother after the death of her own.

7 years earlier persuaded by her family she broke off the engagement with the handsome and clever, but poor Captain Wentworth.

When her father falls on bad times and is forced to rent out his family home to the brother in law of Captain Wentworth, Admiral Croft, Anne is forced into his social circles by association with her younger sister who has married into the respect Musgrove family.

Synopsis

Paul Fennyfeather is sent down from Oxford for indecent behaviour (undeserved) and gets a job as a school master at a sub standard private school Llanabba Castle.

While at the school he meets several characters, such as Grimes who is always in the soup, Prendergast, a former clergyman who started having doubts, Philbrick who seems to have a different alter ego for everybody he meets and the headmaster Fagan.

Synopsis

Harry Potter, having decided to leave school with his friends Ron and Hermoine, goes camping in the English country side. While looking for tat to bring down Voldemort, they have their ops and downs.
In the end they go back to Hogswart where they are confronted by Voldemort and his followers. Everybody fights, several beloved characters die, but Harry prevails against Voldemort in the end.

Impressions

This was an emotional end of a long journey. Rowling do like to throw false leads against Harry and the reader, but it did feel that Snape was finally redeemed.
Several scenes stood out, the rescue of Luna (one of my favourite characters) and the death of Fred I think hit hardest, but I was also genuinely touched by Ron coming back to the quest. Altogether it felt very satisfying.
